New Version of Windows 8 based will be launching by Hewlett- Packard
This year Hewlett-Packard introduced a high-end Windows 8 based hybrid tablet/laptop named Split
x2. It is the improved version of HP Envy x2 which launched last year. Envy x2
had a big success for HP. So they are continuing with the latest version Split
x2. You can use it as a detachable tablet or as a laptop. It comes in a dark
silver finish; HP calls it as “modern silver”. The tablet part is the brain of
the system because the Windows 8 OS is installed in the tablet portion. Whether
the keyboard is docked or not you can use it as a whole system. The MicroSD
slot is present in the tablet as an external storage.
Instead
of atom processor which is present in the older version (Envy x2) HP split x2
has 3rd generation Intel core i3 or i5 ( Intel’s Y series Ivy bridge
chips) processor option. Screen size is upgraded from 11.6 inches to 13.3
inches in Split x2. But the screen resolution is 1366 x 768 which is same for
both the devices. This next generation product is developed to ease customer’s work.
They can easily access their files from home, office and on the go. Split x2 arrived
with 128 GB SSD storage. It also has up to 500 GB storage in keyboard docked
which is ideal for storing media files. Like the Envy x2, Split x2 also comes
up with keyboard dock with a MicroSD reader, combo audio Jack, 1 USB 3.0 Port,
1 USB 2.0 Port, HDMI Port and SD card Slot. The RAM capacity is 2 GB which is
unfortunately same with the previous version but customer can upgrade it up to
8 GB. Split x2 has the connectivity options like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. There is
no option for NFC which is present in Envy x2.
In front of the
tablet 1080 p HD camera is present and on the back side 8 MP rear camera is mounted.
When we attach the keyboard with the tablet we will get a huge keypad, touch-pad and the extra battery which gives power for long run time. This notebook
measures 13.3 x 9 x 0.9 inches and 4 pounds in weight. It is a vast device so
using as a tablet is more awkward. It’s better to use as a laptop. HP Split x2
has an optional HP care pack for damage protection. It gives consumer an
additional service facility, home service and replacement of the damaged
hardware.
This product is
available in US market on August 2013 and the price would be $800 but there not
information about the availability and the price in India.
